Twas the Night Before Christmas

and all through Grandma Janets house, Were andersons laughing, eating and wrapping paper flying all over the house.

We played the fun Christmas Eve game with little gifts wrapped up. You had to roll doubles to have a chance at unwrapping a gift with gloves and a santa hat on. Lou kept screaming, "I got devils!" baby Mess wanted to just roll the dice and kept stealing them. Fritz had a great time this year when she rolled doubles right off the bat and got 6 gifts opened before anyone could stop her. Uncle Cody got away with the best gift of the box which was a "gun lighter"

Grandpa Merlin bought all six of the little grandgirls that were there a little stuff animal to sleep with that night. The girls were thrilled and finally got to bed around 9:30.

They went to sleep fast and hard. As usual Mom is the one who woke up FRitz and Bugs at 3:00 a.m. to check and see if Santa came. Fritz got up Bugs didn't bother. We saw all the presents Santa had left and the stockings overflowing with goodies. Then Fritz and Mom went back to sleep, only mom couldn't sleep and woke everyone up at 6:30 to see what santa had brought them. What can I say? I love to see people open gifts it makes me so excited!

Gobble time

I only called my mom 5 times while trying to cook thanksgiving dinner.

1st time: Mom my turkey is in the oven, It didn't have any gibblets in it. Do you put butter on the skin?
2nd time: Yes I had to take the turkey out of the oven and poke around with forks to keep from getting burnt and YES my turkey had a sack of gibblets after all.
3rd time: I hope my turkey is ok. I am out monitoring the ground water wells with Dustin. How long does it take to cook? Do you think my turkey is all most done? How will I know if it is cooked? dustin told me that this is the biggest day for hospitals for food poisoning. He is afraid I am going to undercook the turkey.
4th time: My turkey looks done. I just got back from the wells. How do I make the gravy?
5th time: My gravy didn't turn out like yours. I should have followed your directions.

keep in mind that I have cooked my own thanksgiving dinner 3 times before. I just hate not spending lots of family. I was happy that my girls helped make the pies (snickers pie and frozen chocolate pie)and Lou helped make the rolls. We wrote what we were thankful for and rolled it up inside each roll. And I was especially happy that my girls helped with all thoses dirty dishes while daddy watched football. Baby Mae woke up from her nap and felt cheated that she missed the whole dinner. But she woke up just in time for pie time!
